Both of our teams were undeafeated at the first ever North Antrim U12 8-a-side Indoor Airborne Hurling Championship in Dunloy’s indoor sports arena held on Saturday 13th November and have qualified for the Division 1 & 3 Finals on Saturday 20th November at the same venue, match times are still to be confirmed.
In Division 1 we defeated Glenshesk, Ballycastle and Loughgeil. We were pushed all the way by Loughgeil and managed to pip them at the post and will again meet them in the final and this could go either way.
In Division 3 we started with a very tough game V All Saints and held on for a narrow win. This was followed by wins V Dunloy 2, Larne and a 5-5 draw V Glenshesk 2. We play Glenshesk 2 in the Division 3 Final, again with nothing seperating the two teams and the Final is anyones game.
Well done to all the boys involved and best of luck on Saturday and thanks to the parents who helped transport the two teams to Dunloy, again help will be needed with transport on Saturday 20th.
The Dunloy Indoor arena is a fantastic facility and on a wet and windy Saturday in November, in North Antrim, hundreds of children got the chance to throughly enjoy themselves with a super day of Hurling in dry and warm conditions. I would urge as many parents and supporters to have a look at this great set up, (there is a viewing gallery).
Credit must go to the Dunloy club for building this Indoor Sports Arena.
