40s & 50s
In 1940 the curate of Cushendall, Father Paddy Maginn decided that the Parish should have a hurling team of its own and a Cushendall team was reformed. They played in an all white strip. Hiccups still persisted and when, in 1949-50, Cushendall did not field a team, six players went back to Cushendun and two to Glenarriffe.
But officials, led by the late Joseph Lynn had sufficient foresight to keep the club in existence and in 1951 Cushendall were back with a team in the Senior League. In 1953 Cushendall were regraded to Junior status and duly won the All-County Junior Championship and Senior status was regained.
Cushendall were unfortunate not to win the Senior Championship and were deprived by great sides from Ballycastle and Loughgiel.
