Last night three delegates from Ruairí Óg CLG: Martin Magee, Alex Emerson & Ciaran Kearney attended the second workshop in a series of four held in The Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim.

First on the agenda was Antrim's new Strategic Plan: Liam O' Kane, chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee, gave a resumé of the plan and said all clubs would have the finished article in the very near future to discuss and comment upon. The plan deals with developments on and off the pitch re: Antrim GAA over the next five years.

Next was BCC pitches. Basically Belfast City Council is looking to re-negotiate the terms of use for its pitches and this will have a direct impact on Antrim GAA and its clubs who make use of pitches at five particular locations in the city. Antrim GAA and other sporting organisations are presently attending meetings with BCC re: this issue.

Dunsilly COP
Antrim GAA's executive committee is recommending we proceed with the Dunsilly project. £4million has already been spent and present estimates suggest it will take approximately a further £3million to complete the next phases of development that includes the main building with changing rooms etc.. Planning permission has been granted so it is now a matter of raising the necessary finances.

Casement Park
The new Casement Park will have a capacity of 38000 spectators. Planners are presently listening to and assessing concerns and objections from local residents. Funding to re-develop Casement Park has been granted to Ulster Council who will oversee the project in partnership with Antrim GAA. Since the grant was awarded to Ulster GAA, no monies can be diverted from it to the Dunsilly Scheme which is seen solely as an Antrim GAA project. However Casement Park remains and will remain the property of Antrim GAA when it has been re-developed
