Tonight our senior reserves progressed to the semi-final stages of the SHRC with an emphatic 3.20 to 3.03 win over Mc Quillan's second string. Michael Mc Carthy ended the game with a total of ten points while Conor Carson and Eamon Laverty dominated in a sound defence. Despite the very humid conditions Michael Delargy and Stephen Mc Keegan were impressive in the midfield engine-room where their tireless running and general good play gave the Ruairis a solid platform on which to fashion this impressive victory
Once again thank you to Paddy Mc Laughlin for the photograph!!

Cushendall made their way into a semi final meeting with Loughiel with a highly impressive 3-20 to 3-3 victory over Mc Quillans Ballycastle on Tuesday night. A strong first half performance which included goals from Eoin Laverty and Colin Mc Keegan left the game effectively over at half time with Ruairi Og in front 2-11 to 2-2. In the second half things didn’t get much better for Ballycastle and they found it very hard to breech the Cushendall defense which was well marshaled by Laurence Mc Keegan, James Mc Auley and Conor Carson. While up front Cushendall added a further 1-9 with the sharp shooting of Michael Mc Carthy a feature of the game. The Cushendall goal in the second half came from the stick of Eamon O Neill who had battled hard all evening at full forward.
How they played: Allow Cushendall were never put under any real pressure they played some superb hurling, the backs were sound as a unit with Conor Carson and Laurence Mc Keegan particularly impressive. At mid field Stephen Mc Keegan and Michael Delargy again worked their socks off and up front Cushendall had stars in Eoin Laverty, Eamon O Neill, Colin Mc Keegan and John Mc Manus but my man of the match was Michael Mc Carthy who’s work rate was first class, he always made himself available when his team mates needed support and again he was excellent both from play and from frees, for the second championship game in a row he registered 10 points.
