After recent performances the two management teams were looking for better from their charges as both outfits prepare for their respective championships. Ruairí Og ran out winners on a scoreline of 2.15 V 1.12. Ballycran brought a large panel with them and will be particularly pleased by the performance of their half back, midfield and half forward lines.
Cushendall juggled their resources and it paid dividends as they played with more intensity and fluency than they had in recent games. It will also please that seven different players contributed to the final tally with Paddy Magill who had been the chief and main scorer prior to that accounting for just two of his side's 2.15 on this occasion. The game was played without any malice and the referee did very well letting the game flow and awarding very few frees to either team.
Also great to see Michael Mc Cambridge, Aaron Graffin, Neil Mc Manus, Declan Mc Killop, Brian Delargy, Sean Delargy and Karl Mc Keegan playing with more authority and purpose while many of the other players showed a marked improvement. However there are still areas where the team needs to work on and they include decision making, shot selection and overpassing or misplaced passes but having said that the positives outweighed the negatives.
Scorers: Sean Delargy (1.02), Shane Mc Naughton (1.02), Conor Carson (0.01), Brian Delargy (0.02), Karl Mc Keegan (0.04), Declan Mc Killop (0.02), Paddy Magill (0.02)
