commiserations to the senior reserves in last nights championship against dunloy, where they were beaten by 2 points. a spirited second half comeback. down by 8 points, they brought it level but were unable to get across the finish line.some great heart and battling qualities in the second half, which if it had been applied in the first half, the outcome would have been different.
unfortunately, the apathy that seems to be in the club at the minute has spread to the players. no real support for the reserves or indeed the camogs last night, besides family and a smattering of others. one umpire helped out in the first half, finally got a second umpire for the second half, no linesman to help out column who was trying to manage and do linesman. we now have a situation where the reserves have nothing left to train for and this will have a knock on effect for the seniors who r getting poor enough turn outs at training. but when the seniors and the hierarchy dont give a damn, u cant blame any individual for not putting his all in when the bench is the only thing left to train for.

The Reserves have a number of League fixtures still to play so I don't understand your comment that they have nothing left to train for.
As to the number at the match remember there was an U16 match at home at the same time and people have other commitments/ interests besides hurling.
I am interested to know exactly what you mean by "but when the seniors and the hierarchy dont give a damn"?
I would say it is an attitude like yours that is the problem. If you are concerned about the "apathy" as you describe it in the club why not come to the next members meeting and put forward your suggestions on how we can improve things.

congratulations to the camogs who won their preliminary match in u18 championship on 16/6/08 in Dunloy on a scoreline of 5-3 to 2-0.
Played in good conditions the girls raced into a 4-2 to 0-0 half time lead with a display of fast and direct camogie.
The second half petered out and i'm sure the management team will have noted this and will take steps to improve a few things for the next match.
Players to stand out were centre half Bronagh Hegarty and wing back Orlagh o' Hara, midfielders Nuala McQuillan and Alex McLoughlin and full forward Catriona McKay.
How they lined out:
1.Noeleen Cosgrove 2.Anne Burke 3. Ciara Campbell 4.Shauna Healy 5. Orlagh O'Hara 6. Bronagh Hegarty 7. Colleen Patterson 8. Nuala McQuillan 9. Alex McLaughlin 10. Tessa McDonnell 11. Maria McManus (c) 12. Siobhan McAllister 13. Fionnula McDonnell 14. Catriona McKay 15. Emma McCambridge.
Subs: Eimear o' Hara for Fionnula McDonnell, Caoimhe McAleese for Emma McCambridge and Rachel Erwin for Nuala McQuillan. Patricia McNaughton, Ruth Haughey, Joan Kearney and Soracha Cosgrove.
