Dunloy 1-1 Ruairi og 2-3
On a wet night in Dunloy, our girls ran into a tough tackling Dunloy outfit and even though the scoreline doesn't reflect it, this was a very good match.
Our girls led from start to finish and they can be pleased with the way they played. The effort put in was top notch, with the hooking and tackling a joy to see. In the end we deserved to win but credit to Dunloy: they never stopped and gave as good as they got in the exchanges.
Scorers:
Emma McCambridge 1-1
Fionnula McDonnell 1-0
Orlagh o'Hara 0-1
Colleen Patterson 0-1
How we played:
As I said before our defending was top class. with everyone putting in a good hour's effort and the workrate was phenomenal.
Two players caught my eye over the hour and they had outstanding games. Anne Burke in corner back was outstanding and cleared numerous balls while midfielder Colleen Patterson was colossal, winning ball and providing a platform from which to attack.
Team:
1.Noeleen Cosgrove 2.Anne Burke 3.Laura McMullan 4.Sharon Litster 5.Soracha Cosgrove 6.Ciara Campbell 7.Rachel Erwin 8.Colleen Patterson 9.Catriona McKay 10.Caoimhe McAleese 11.Nuala McQuillan 12. Orlagh O'Hara 13.Ruth Haughey 14.Emma McCambridge 15.Fionnula McDonnell.
Subs: Shauna Healy, Aileen Connolly, Maria Kane

it's ironic that we're almost in the final of the championship given all the concerns around the performance of the senior team this year (myself included)...i think we have a fantastic chance of winning another championship this year - the draw has been kind to us and let's make the most of it....but first we have rossa to think about - they'll be no push-over but we are a much more accomplished unit than they are..my anxiety is around our scoring - we will definitely get chances to win the game but we must be more efficient with our scoring ratio...the sharpest shooters will win on the day and i think we will come to our peak around the right time...i hope to god that we can lift her again this year and give us another crack at ulster (and beyond)...very best wishes to the boys - stick together and take your scores

Serious challange ahead on sunday against Rossa, a team we have struggled against on several occasions, only 4 years since they beat both Dunloy and Loughiel to win the county championship. However our team is coming round at the rite time, would be brilliant if Neil could play the full match, what a boost that would be, I think wee busty deserves to get a start, he did well when he came on against Oisins. Conor Carson had a great game too and is well worth his place. Shane also back on the starting 15 were starting to look like the real deal, heres my team:
1. Fred 2. Graffin 3. Scully 4. Sd 5. Karl 6. Kevin 7. Mick 8. Declan 9. Magill 10. Conor Carson 11. Donal 12. Ad 13. Shane 14. Neil 15. Busty.
Anyone else any other ideas???

This Saturday 9th August at 4pm in Glenravel our U12s play Loughgiel in the North Antrim Championship Final.
We played a good Loughgiel team in a very tough league match recently and got beat. But several factors went aginst us that night, players on Holiday, injuries, playing in Loughgiel with a home ref, several players not playing as we know they can.
But our boys now have to believe in themselves, as we their mentors do, and play at their best to beat a fine Loughgiel team in the Final.
They are good, but so are we, just do the simple things right and compete with them for the 40 minutes and we can do it!!!
We know there is alot on this Saturday with the festival, but we would ask that as many family, friends and Ruairi Og supporters go along and give our future Senior Hurlers encouragement on Saturday afternoon. (Also well done to our Seniors for taking care of some local business last Sunday afternoon in Ballycastle).
Good Luck to our boys who are a very fine bunch of lads that we have been involved with all year. You are a credit to your families.
We look forward to the Final and the rest of the games we have left in the League.

tis that time of year again where hurling fever hits home hard!! good luck to the seniors this sunday afternoon! after an indifferent start to the season it seems to be coming good, judging by recent performances. couple that with all the injuries almost cleared up it would seem that we are heading in the right direction. lets all get behind the team and help banish all the supposed negativity that is lurking about.also, good luck with the marquee, vital funds im sure!
