Name: Bronagh Kelly Memorial Tournament
29/8/2008
On 24/8/08 a panel of 10 u16 players went to the above tournament to represent the camogie club.  This was a 7 a side tournament in memory of a young Gortnamona Camog who passed away whilst playing camogie.

We were grouped with Dunloy, Gortnamona, Loughgiel and Rossa in section A.

Our 1st match was against Dunloy which we won at a canter, with a score of 3-4 to 0-0.

Our second match was with the Gorts which we won by our records by a point but the referee said it was a draw and with them having a '45' they won by a point.  Score was Ruairi OG 3-3 Gortnamona 3-4.

Our 3rd match was against Loughgiel and once again refereeing decisions went against us and the Shamrocks ran out 4 point winners.  Score Loughgiel 2-5 Ruairi og 1-4.

Our last match against Rossa was a must win game for the girls to pick up confidence after the last 2 unlucky defeats.  The girls did themselves proud with a massive 8-8 to 1-0 scoreline' with everyone on the panel scoring in this game.

Panel and Scorers:

Orlagh O' Hara 8-8
Colleen Patterson 2-0
Emma McCambridge 2-0
Fionnula McDonnell 2-0
Ciara Campbell (c) 0-4
Shauna Healy 1-0
Nuala McQuillan 0-3
Anne Burke 0-2
Catriona McKay 0-1
Caoimhe McAleese 0-1

A special thank you goes to Gortnamona C.C. for inviting us to the tournament, also to Ruth Haughey, Noeleen Cosgrove and Joan Kearney whilst not selected for the panel came and gave a hand throughout the day.  Also Margaret Litster for driving the bus and Claire Burke for providing first aid.

This was a good day out and everyone there had a good day, hopefully we will be back next year.
